fall 2017 collections

Tranquil Gardens
This collection was inspired by a "lunchbox." When I was cleaning out my elderly Aunt's apartment, I came across a dozen vintage printed square cloths. The colors were vibrant and delicate, with beautiful flowers, leaves, and water motifs. Beautiful prints inspired by nature. They turned out to be "furoshiki"; Japanese cloths used to wrap plain lunchboxes. When the square fabric was tied, it created a handle which was easy to carry and covered up a utilitarian tin box, making a different look to use everyday. We made a patchwork of many of the square cloths and used it as a base for the Tranquil Gardens collection. The textures of sweaters are reminiscent of rock gardens where the colors and patterns re-create those found in nature.
Happiness Collection
Our criteria in designing this collection was that we wanted each item to feel "happy"! This collection features bright pinks, patchwork flowers, pom-poms, cat faces, and silhouettes designed for bringing smiles! Swinging rainbow tassels on confetti dot embroidered dresses or ponchos are meant for lots of movement & happy times.
